Nabu

Nabu

Nabu is a god of wisdom and writes Babylon, worshiped by the inhabitants of Babylon as the son of Marduk and his queen, Sarpanitum, and as the granddaughter of Ea. Queen Nabu is Tashmetum. In the past, Nabu was a Western Semitic god introduced by the Amorites into Mesopotamia, perhaps at the same time as Marduk. While Marduk became Babylon's main god, Nabu settled in nearby Borsippa in his temple E-zida. He was first called "the author and minister of Marduk", then assimilated as a son loved by Marduk of Sarpanitum. During the New Year's Eve Babylon, the cult of the Nabu cult transported from Borsippa to Babylon was able to communicate with his father Marduk. Nabu was approved by the patron patron officials, taking over from the goddess Sumerian Nisaba. The signs are clay-shaped stones with stylus writing. He wore a horned cap, and stood with his hands clasped, in the gesture of the congregation. He was riding a winged dragon, formerly belonging to Marduk. The etymology of his name is disputed. Etimologi namanya dipertikaikan.
