Born in Makkah, the Arabian Peninsula, he was an orphan from a young age where he was guarded by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib bin Hasyim and his uncle Abu Talib bin Abdul Muttalib. He also worked as a shepherd and merchants and his first marriage was when he was 25 years old when he was married to Khadijah bint Khuwailid (40 years). When Muhammad was 40 years old, he received the first revelation from God through the angel Gabriel while in the Hira Cave.
