Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is one of the universities in Malaysia. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia was officially established on May 18, 1970. Its campus was opened in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur. Today, the main campus of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia is located in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor. There is also a teaching hospital, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur and a branch campus, as well as in Kuala Lumpur. The need for higher education for the Malays began to be raised in 1903 at the Conference of Rulers. In 1917, Za'ba, a scholar raised him in the Malay Board. This was followed in 1923, a prominent figure of educator A. Kadir Adabi, forwarding the memorandum of ideas to DYMM Sultan of Kelantan. After independence, the issue of extension of education for secondary school students of Islam and Islamic religious schools spurred the idea. Now UKM has grown rapidly and has 13 faculties, 14 institutes, 12 centers, and a private wing of UKM Holdings Sdn Berhad.
