Alpy

Alps - the highest mountain chain of Europe, drawn from the Mediterranean coast to the Danube valley in the vicinity of Vienna. The chain has a length of about 1200 km, a width of 150 to 250 km and covers an area of ​​about 220 thousand. km². The Alpine marshes run from the Mediterranean Sea to the Viennese Forest. The highest peak of the Alps, and also of all Europe, is located on the French-Italian Mont Blanc border, although the main peak is on the French side. It rises to a height of 4810,45 m. The Alps are located in the territory of several European countries, from the east: Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France and Monaco. Some of them, in which the Alps occupy a significant part of the territory, are often called Alpine.

Alpy – najwyższy łańcuch górski Europy, ciągnący się łukiem od wybrzeża Morza Śródziemnego po dolinę Dunaju w okolicach Wiednia. Łańcuch ma długość około 1200 km, szerokość od 150 do 250 km i zajmuje powierzchnię około 220 tys. km². Grań główna Alp biegnie od Morza Śródziemnego do Lasu Wiedeńskiego. Najwyższym szczytem Alp, a zarazem całej Europy, jest położony na granicy francusko-włoskiej Mont Blanc, choć główny wierzchołek znajduje się po stronie francuskiej. Wznosi się na wysokość 4810,45 m n.p.m. Alpy położone są na terytorium kilku państw europejskich, są to od wschodu: Słowenia, Austria, Włochy, Niemcy, Liechtenstein, Szwajcaria, Francja i Monako. Niektóre z nich, w których Alpy zajmują znaczącą część terytorium, nazywane są często alpejskimi.
