anhedonia

Anhedonia

Anhedonia - lack or loss of pleasure. It is one of the key symptoms that help diagnose depression. It also occurs in the case of schizophrenia and certain other mental disorders. Anhedonia disturbs social functioning because the environment can not read the emotional state of a person suffering from this disorder. Anhedonia is accompanied by predominantly other symptoms, such as a lack of affect, a lack of spontaneous expression of emotion such as joy, anger, spontaneity. The emotional states expressed in anhedonia are "grayed out", with similar colors and similar expressions. Induced anhedonism is sometimes observed - the individual in a particular group subordinates itself to the requirements of emotional restraint, depriving himself of the joy and satisfaction of everyday life. Anhedonia is a relatively common side effect of antipyaminergic antipsychotics.
