Branle

Branle

A group of courtly dances originating from the French branler, in the 4/4 meter, known perhaps since the 14th century, and coming from an even older carole. The games became very popular in France in the 15th-16th centuries, and later in the courts throughout Europe. They were made in groups and consisted of several figures. The main source of information about these dances is the Thoinot Arbeau Orcheosographie treatise. The industry is divided into four basic groups: ▪ simple industry ▪ global industry ▪ industry ▪ industry ▪ manner Branles have started the menu.
