Casio

Casio is an international electronics company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Casio founded Tadao Kashio in April 1946. In 1957, the name Kashio Seisakujo was changed to Casio Computer CO. Ltd., and other Kashio brothers Kazuo, Toshio, and Yukio joined the board. The current CEO of Casio is Kazuo Kashio. The name of the company comes from the name of the CEO written in rōmaji and is tailored to the foreign customer. The name change from Kashio to Casio was explained by the possibility of considering the company as Italian, which Tadao Kashio wanted to avoid. The company's motto is Creativity and Contribution. The company produces calculators, digital cameras, watches, projectors, musical instruments, label printers, palmtops, cash registers, mobile phones, keyboards and electronic translators. Previously, in the 1980s, synthesizers were also built.

Casio – międzynarodowa firma, z branży elektronicznej, z siedzibą w dzielnicy Shibuya w Tokio, Japonia. Casio założył w kwietniu 1946 r. Tadao Kashio. W 1957 roku dotychczasowa nazwa Kashio Seisakujo została zmieniona na Casio Computer CO. Ltd., a do zarządu firmy dołączyli pozostali bracia Kashio: Kazuo, Toshio i Yukio. Obecnym prezesem firmy Casio jest Kazuo Kashio. Nazwa firmy pochodzi od nazwiska prezesa zapisanego w rōmaji i jest dopasowana dla zagranicznego klienta. Zmiana nazwy z Kashio na Casio była tłumaczona możliwością uznania koncernu za firmę włoską, czego Tadao Kashio chciał uniknąć. Motto firmy to Kreatywność i wkład. Firma produkuje m.in. kalkulatory, cyfrowe aparaty fotograficzne, zegarki, projektory, instrumenty muzyczne, drukarki etykiet, palmtopy, kasy fiskalne, telefony komórkowe, keyboardy i elektroniczne tłumacze. Wcześniej, w latach 80. konstruowane były również syntezatory.
