Endoprosthesis - made of biomaterials element, implanted surgically into the body, replacing or supporting the lost function of the organ or organs. This term refers mainly to implants replacing damaged elements of the motion system, especially the hip and knee joints, although for the endoprosthesis we also include, for example, cardiovascular implants. Endoprosthesis is not an orthopedic implant, used to repair broken bones, which, after the growth of bone tissue are removed from the body.
