WHAT DOES JONIT MEAN IN POLISH?

Jonit

Jonit - substance for selective ion exchange process, used in ionic columns and ionic filters. Passing through a layer of ionic liquid or gaseous mixture or solution either enriches it with a particular ion or, conversely, gets rid of a particular ion. Jonites are usually gels or porous substances that have the ability of selectively releasing certain ions and absorbing others. Their action is based on the fact that certain chemical functional groups that bind ions are present on their surface. These are usually groups that have strong acidic or alkaline properties that, when in contact with the solvent or the activating solution, are subjected to electrolytic dissociation resulting in their charge. Each ion has a specific ionic capacity - i.e., the number of moles of ion that it can absorb in its unit of mass. After full use of their ionic capacity, they need regeneration. Ion regeneration consists in washing the bed with a solution containing ions that have been removed from the ion, eg HCl, NaCl, NaOH.

Jonit – substancja służąca do przeprowadzania selektywnego procesu wymiany jonowej, stosowana w kolumnach jonitowych i filtrach jonitowych. Przepuszczenie przez warstwę jonitu ciekłej lub gazowej mieszaniny lub roztworu powoduje albo wzbogacenie jej o określony jon albo przeciwnie pozbycie się z niej określonego jonu. Jonity to zwykle żele lub substancje porowate, które mają zdolność selektywnego uwalniania jednych jonów i pochłaniania innych. Ich działanie opiera się na fakcie występowania na ich powierzchni określonych chemicznych grup funkcyjnych, które wiążą jony. Są to zwykle grupy mające silne własności kwasowe lub zasadowe, które w kontakcie z rozpuszczalnikiem lub roztworem aktywującym ulegają dysocjacji elektrolitycznej powodującej naładowanie ich powierzchni. Każdy jonit ma określoną pojemność jonową – tj. liczbę moli jonów, które może zaabsorbować w jednostce swojej masy. Po pełnym wykorzystaniu swojej pojemności jonity wymagają regeneracji. Regeneracja jonitów polega na płukaniu złoża roztworem zawierającym jony, które uległy usunięciu z jonitu np. HCl, NaCl, NaOH.
