Pierre de Ronsard

Pierre de Ronsard

Pierre de Ronsard - French poet, principal representative of the French Renaissance poetry, leader of the Pleiades, called the prince of the poets. In his work, formally perfected, with erudite allusions, he introduced French antique forms and Italian love sonnets inspired by Petrarch. It's just two sets of sonnets: Mary and Mary's death have consolidated his fame. He was a poet of subtle affection and erotic. As in the poems of Petrarch, his emotions and emotion are also dominant in his lyrics. In the spirit of epicureanism he described the beauty of women and nature, and praised the joy of life and the elimination of happiness. In his poetry he can also find echoes of contemporary political events and wrote the unfinished French epic.
