SIM-lock - security in the software of mobile phones and GSM modems established by the manufacturer at the operator's request, most often resulting in the lack of authorization of SIM cards from other operators. On a SIM-lock mobile phone you can install the SIM card of only one operator, usually the phone vendor. You can also lock your phone so that it works with only one SIM card, for example, or with cards from a specific country. Placing another card in such a locked camera will usually show the message No network or information on the lock. The SIM-lock is usually set to the country code and network code, eg 260-01, which is usually set at the operator's request. Typically, a company that has set up a SIM-lock also offers the option to charge a photo for free or free of charge after a specified period of time. For most phones, this operation involves entering the NCK unlocking code in the appropriate phone menu.

SIM-lock – zabezpieczenie w oprogramowaniu telefonów komórkowych oraz modemów GSM zakładane przez producenta na życzenie operatora, najczęściej powodujące brak autoryzacji kart SIM pochodzących od innych operatorów. W telefonie komórkowym z SIM-lockiem można zainstalować kartę SIM tylko jednego operatora, najczęściej samego sprzedawcy telefonu. Istnieje również możliwość takiego zablokowania telefonu, aby działał tylko z jedną, wybraną kartą SIM lub np. z kartami z określonego kraju. Umieszczenie innej karty w tak zablokowanym aparacie powoduje zwykle pokazanie napisu Brak sieci lub informacji o włączonej blokadzie. Najczęściej blokada SIM-lock jest zakładana na kod kraju i kod sieci, np. 260-01, która jest zwykle zakładana na życzenie operatora. Zazwyczaj firma, która założyła SIM-locka, oferuje także możliwość jego zdjęcia za odpowiednią opłatą lub bezpłatnie po określonym czasie. W większości telefonów operacja taka polega na wpisaniu w odpowiednim menu telefonu kodu odblokowującego NCK.
