Syngamia

Syngamia

Syngamia - the process of fertilization in sexual reproduction in plants and fungi, consisting in combining gametes. This involves the fusion of the two gametes and the joining of their nuclei. In higher fungus syngamia occurs in two stages - first as a result of plasmodium formation of two-celled cells, which divide the origin of mycelial mycelium, and confluence of nuclei occur only after a number of cell division. Because of the type of joining gametes, we distinguish between: ▪ isogamy - when gametes do not differ in size or structure, ▪ anisogamy - when the gametes are different in size and usually in shape and form; Female gametes become less mobile and larger than male gametes. The most common type of anisogamy is oogamia - the female gamete is large and immobile, and the male gamete is small, with a flag which allows it to actively move.
