fused salt electrolysis
Thermoelectrolysis - a type of electrolysis in which the electrolyte is not a solution of a chemical capable of electrolytic dissociation but a compound in pure form but melted at high temperature. Thermoelectricity is used, for example, for the production of certain metals such as aluminum, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium from molten salts or hydroxides of these metals.
