WHAT DOES WECK MEAN IN POLISH?

Jars - a type of glass container, less often ceramic, tightly sealed, most commonly used in the household for storing food products and foodstuffs, but also in laboratories and museums - most often for the storage of biological specimens, etc., as well as in pharmacy for storing medicinal products. The most common jars in a household are from one liter down, the smallest jars used in pharmacies, even under 50 milliliters. An important feature of the jar is the ability to seal tightly - eg with a metal nut, a stopper or a special cover. Usually the jars and jars are cylindrical in shape and the hole has a diameter of the whole or almost the entire vessel. This dish is similar to a bottle, but it differs from the larger opening and the fact that in the jar, especially round, it is difficult to distinguish the neck. The distinction of a wide neck bottle from a jar is not clear. The most common are clear glass jars, although sometimes they are made of tinted glass or opaque ceramics.

Słój - rodzaj naczynia szklanego, rzadziej ceramicznego, szczelnie zamykanego, wykorzystywanego najczęściej w gospodarstwie domowym do przechowywania produktów i przetworów żywnościowych, ale także w laboratoriach i muzeach - tam najczęściej do przechowywania okazów biologicznych itp., jak również w farmacji do przechowywania lekarstw. Pojemności słojów spotykanych najczęściej w gospodarstwie domowym wynoszą od jednego litra w dół, najmniejsze słoiczki, stosowane najczęściej w aptekach, nawet poniżej 50 mililitrów. Istotną cechą słoja jest możliwość szczelnego zamknięcia - np. metalową nakrętką, korkiem lub specjalną przykrywką. Zazwyczaj słoje i słoiki mają kształt walca, a otwór ma średnicę całego lub niemal całego naczynia. Naczynie to podobne jest do butelki, odróżnia się od niej jednak znacznie większym otworem i faktem, że w słoju, szczególnie okrągłym, trudno wyróżnić szyjkę. Odróżnienie butelki o szerokiej szyjce od słoja nie jest jednak wyraźne. Najczęściej spotykane są słoje ze szkła bezbarwnego, choć czasem bywają ze szkła przyciemnianego lub z nieprzezroczystej ceramiki.
