Jard

Jard - Angular unit of length. Basic unit of English and American measurement system. It is equal to three feet or 36 inches, its length in SI units varies from system to system. The most commonly used yard is the international yard, measuring exactly 0.9144 meters. Correspondingly, yard-and-volume units are used: square yard and cubic yard. Sometimes these units are also referred to simply as yards.

Jest on równy trzem stopom lub 36 calom, jego długość w jednostkach SI różni się w zależności od układu. Najpowszechniej używanym jardem jest jard międzynarodowy, mierzący dokładnie 0,9144 metra. Odpowiednio, stosuje się też pochodzące od jarda jednostki powierzchni i objętości: jard kwadratowy i jard sześcienny. Niekiedy jednostki te także oznacza się po prostu jako jardy.
