Niels Henrick David Bohr was a Danish physicist whose works contributed decisively to the understanding of atomic structure and quantum physics. He graduated from his hometown in 1911 and worked with Joseph John Thomson and Ernest Rutherford in England. In 1913, applying the theory of quantification to the electrons / electrons of Rutherford's atomic model, he was able to interpret some of the properties of the spectral series of hydrogen and the structure of the periodic system of elements. He formulated the principle of correspondence and, in 1928, that of complementarity. He also studied the nuclear model of liquid drop, and before the discovery of plutonium, predicted the property of the split, analogous to that of U-235. Bohr received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. His theory for the explanation of the atomic model proposed by Rutherford in 1911, taking into account the quantum theory, was not taken seriously. Then, in the course of and after the 1920s, several physicists helped create the existing model today. Among these physicists we can mention, among others, Albert Einstein, Louis de Broglie, Erwin Schrödinger, Werner Heisenberg and Wolfgang Pauli.

Depois, no decorrer e depois da década de 1920, vários físicos ajudaram a criar o modelo existente hoje. Entre estes físicos podemos citar, dentre outros, Albert Einstein, Louis de Broglie, Erwin Schrödinger, Werner Heisenberg e Wolfgang Pauli.
