Macronucleus, also called the vegetative nucleus is the largest nucleus found in the cellular cytoplasm of protozoa, as the paramécio. The macronucleus has as its main function the metabolism, except when it is involved in the cellular reproduction process, which, in this case, occurs by conjugation between two individuals, in which these pair and then exchange the material through a bridge cytoplasmic.
