Niue

Niue

Niue or Niuê is an island state associated with New Zealand. Its capital is Alofi. Its territory is constituted by the homonymous island, almost entirely surrounded by reefs of coral. The population has declined, and most of the natives of the island live in New Zealand. Located in the southern Pacific Ocean, 2400 km northeast of New Zealand, in the triangle formed by Tonga, Samoan and Cook Islands, Niue is generally known as the "Polynesian Rock". Niue ou Niuê é um estado insular associado à Nova Zelândia. Sua capital é Alofi. Seu território é constituído pela ilha homónima, quase inteiramente circundada por recifes de coral. A população tem decrescido, e a maior parte dos naturais da ilha vive na Nova Zelândia. Localizada no sul do Oceano Pacífico, a 2400 km a nordeste da Nova Zelândia, no triângulo formado por Tonga, as Samoas e as Ilhas Cook, Niue é geralmente conhecida como a "Rocha da Polinésia".
