WHAT DOES NOSOGENIA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Pathogenesis

The term pathogenesis refers to the way in which the etiopatogenic agents attack our organism and the natural systems of defense react, however arising, lesions and dysfunctions of the damaged cells and tissues, producing the disease. The pathogenesis also relates to the defenses of our body, such as specific and non-specific defense, which consists of defending our body from pathogens. The etiology of a disease is the study of its causes, and is therefore related to the pathogenesis, although it should not be confused with this: the pathogenesis focuses on the aggressive process or mechanism; the etiology focuses only on causative agents of disease. Most illnesses are caused by various processes. For example, certain types of cancer arise from dysfunction of the immune system. References ^ Fox, Alvin. General aspects of bacterial pathogenesis. University of South Carolina School of Medicine: Microbiology and Immunology Online Textbook, 2010.
