Sarronca

Sarronca

The sarronca is a musical instrument, more precisely a rubbed membranofone, typical of Portugal. It consists of a hollow container covered by a skin. The center of the skin is pierced by a wooden stick, and the sound is obtained by moving the stick from top to bottom, so that the rod rubs the stretched skin.
