RMS Titanic

RMS Titanic

The RMS Titanic was an Olympic-class transatlantic vessel operated by White Star Line and built at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast, Northern Ireland. On the night of April 14, 1912, during his maiden voyage between Southampton in England and New York in the United States, he collided with an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean and sank two hours and forty minutes later, in the early morning hours of 15 April. Until its launch in 1912, it was the largest passenger ship in the world. With 2240 people aboard, the wreck resulted in the death of 1,517 people, ranking it as the greatest maritime disaster of all time. Titanic came from some of the most advanced technologies available at the time and was popularly referred to as "unsinkable," in fact, a 1910 Titanic White Star Line publicity booklet claiming it was "Practically Insolubble." It was a great shock to many that despite the advanced technology and experienced crew, the Titanic has not only sunk as caused great loss of human lives.
