halimá (halimále), s. f. –
1. Titlu al colecției de povești orientale, mai cunoscută ca
O mie și una de nopți. –
2. Basm, poveste, snoavă. –
3. Încurcătură, încîlceală, confuzie.
Arab. âlima „balerină” (›
fr. almée, sp. almea), prin intermediul
ngr. χαλιμά (Șeineanu, II, 200; Lokotsch, 800; Tagliavini,
Arch. Rom., XII, 220). Sensul 3 este firesc, dată fiind complicația poveștii. Se pare că Graur 161 se înșală interpretîndu-l ca „hărmălaie”, pe care îl explică prin
țig. halema, de la
ha- „a mînca”.
