A port is generally a sheltered place where ships can escape the storm and can safely stay. Over time, however, the term has gained a broader meaning, identifying itself with the more comprehensive sphere of the concept of "port", due to the fact that, in addition to sheltering, ships have also undergone loading / unloading operations.
