TAUTHOLOGY 1) Unnecessary repetition of the same thought, formulated by the same words or by words close to meaning. 2) lingv. A mistake consisting of repeating words identical or similar in meaning and expression but different syntactically. 3) log. Judged in which the subject and the predicate express exactly the same notion. [G.-d. tautology; Sil. Ta-u-] TAUTOLOGÍE ~i f. 1) Repetare inutilă a aceluiași gând, formulat prin aceleași cuvinte sau prin cuvinte apropiate ca sens. 2) lingv. Greșeală constând în repetarea unor cuvinte identice sau apropiate ca sens și ca expresie, dar diferite sub raport sintactic. 3) log.
