Until 1960 the average solar day was used as a time standard. 'Punctuation of the sun' was defined as a day of sunlight. It is not appropriate to use this definition as a 'standard definition' because of small changes that occurred during the return of the earth. In 1967, seconds have acquired a more accurate recognition. And the instrument used in this definition is known as the Atomic Clock. According to the International Units System, seconds correspond to the 9.192.631.770 period of the transition radiation between the two hyperfine levels of the Cesium-133 atom in the lowest energy level. At the CIPM meeting in 1997 it was confirmed that this definition is valid for stationary and 0 K thermodynamic temperature for the Cesium atom. It is variable.
