Sumer

Sumerians

Sümerler

Sumerians, a geographical region and civilization, known as the cradle of civilization, established in southern Iraq between 4000 and 2000 BC. The Sumerians have laid the foundations of countless civilizations emerging in Mesopotamia. In addition, writing and astronomy first appeared in Sumerians in Mesopotamia. The general belief is that the Sumerians have close interactions and similarities with the contemporary peoples. The Sumerian State was founded by a non-Sami community. They originally called themselves Kenger. Sumer are the first to come forth from many different tribes living in Mesopotamia and to lay the foundations of subsequent civilized formations. Sumerians are the first known and well known societies in fields such as writing, language, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, religion, fortune, magic and mythology. "Creation" and "Tufan" are first encountered in Sumerians. During the Sumerian period there were about 35 large cities and towns, 21 of which were large. These include Quiche, Nippur, Zabalam, Umma, Lagash, Eridu, Uruk and Ur. "Yaratılış" ve "Tufan"a ilk kez Sümerlerde rastlanır. Sümer döneminde 21'i büyük olan yaklaşık 35 büyük şehir ve kasaba vardı. Bunlar arasında Kiş, Nippur, Zabalam, Umma, Lagaş, Eridu, Uruk ve Ur sayılabilir.
