Cilt bizi dışarıya karşı koruyan bir bariyerdir. Aynı zamanda vücut ısısını ve su dengesini korur, çeşitli zararlı maddelerin ter yoluyla vücuttan atılımını gerçekleştirir. Kabaca üç tabakadan oluşur. En altta, destek dokusu olan kollajen, kan damarları ve salgı bezleri bakımından zengin dermis tabakası yer alır.
