Desertification
Desertification refers to the phenomenon in which the original land covered by plants becomes a barren land. The term "desert" as used herein emphasizes that land is not suitable for plant growth or development of agriculture, not because of the desert (man-made desertification) caused by the dryness of the local climate itself.
