QUÉ SIGNIFICA A LEVEL EN INGLÉS

El Nivel Avanzado de General Certificate of Education - generalmente denominado Nivel Avanzado GCE o, más comúnmente, A Level - es una cualificación académica ofrecida por los organismos educativos del Reino Unido y las dependencias de la Corona británica a los estudiantes que terminan la educación secundaria o preuniversitaria. Varios países, entre ellos Singapur y Mauricio, han desarrollado calificaciones con el mismo nombre y un formato similar al de los Niveles A británicos. La calificación se estudia generalmente por más de dos años y se divide en dos partes, con una parte estudiada en cada año. La primera parte se conoce como Nivel Avanzado de Subsidiaria o Nivel AS, y se conocía anteriormente como Nivel Complementario Avanzado, con la misma abreviatura. La segunda parte se conoce como Nivel A2. El Nivel AS es una calificación por derecho propio, y el Nivel AS combinado con el Nivel A2 forma la calificación completa de Un Nivel.
