Actinobacterias
Actinobacterias son un grupo de bacterias Gram-positivas. Se cree que todos ellos tienen alto contenido de guanina y citosina en su ADN. Sin embargo, recientemente se ha demostrado que varias Actinobacterias de agua dulce realmente tienen bajo contenido de G + C. El contenido de G + C de las Actinobacterias de agua dulce puede ser tan bajo como 42%. En vista de esto, se recomienda que se discontinúe el uso del epíteto de organismos Gram positivos G + C para referirse a Actinobacteria. Pueden ser terrestres o acuáticos. Aunque se entienden principalmente como bacterias del suelo, podrían ser más abundantes en aguas dulces. Actinobacteria es uno de los phyla bacterianos dominantes y contiene uno del más grande de géneros bacterianos, Streptomyces. Se ha sugerido el análisis de la secuencia de glutamina sintetasa para el análisis filogenético de Actinobacteria. Aunque algunas de las células bacterianas más grandes y complejas pertenecen a las Actinobacterias, el grupo de Actinomarinales marinos ha sido descrito como poseedor de las células procariotas de vida libre más pequeñas.
