Albita
Albita es un plagioclasa mineral de feldespato. Es el miembro final de sodio de la serie de soluciones sólidas de plagioclasa. Como tal, representa una plagioclasa con un contenido de anorthita inferior al 10%. El miembro final de albita tiene la fórmula NaAlSi3O8. Es un tectosilicato. Su color es generalmente blanco puro, por lo tanto su nombre del latín albus. Es un componente común en las rocas félsicas. Albita Albita cristaliza con formas triclinicas pinacoides. Su gravedad específica es alrededor de 2.62 y tiene una dureza de Mohs de 6 - 6.5. La albita casi siempre exhibe el hermanamiento cristalino a menudo como estriaciones paralelas minuciosas en la cara cristalina. La albita ocurre a menudo como segregaciones paralelas finas que alternan con el microcline rosado en perthite como resultado de la exolución en el enfriamiento. Se produce en masas graníticas y pegmatitas, en algunos depósitos de vetas hidrotérmicas y forma parte de la típica facies metamórfica greenschista para rocas de composición basáltica original. Se informó por primera vez en 1815 para una ocurrencia en Finnbo, Falun, Dalarna, Suecia.
