Aguijón de elefante
El aguijón del elefante o Ankusha es una herramienta utilizada en el manejo y entrenamiento de los elefantes, los animales terrestres más grandes. Se compone de un gancho que se adjunta a un mango de 60 - 90 cm. El gancho se inserta en la piel sensible del elefante, ligeramente o más profundamente, para causar dolor e inducir al elefante a comportarse de cierta manera. Un alivio en Sanchi y un fresco en las cuevas de Ajanta representan una tripulación de tres personas en el elefante de guerra, el conductor con un aguijón de elefante, lo que parece ser un noble guerrero detrás del conductor y otro asistente en la parte posterior del elefante. Nossov y Dennis informan que dos aguijones de elefante, perfectamente conservados fueron recuperados de un sitio arqueológico en Taxila y se datan del siglo III aC al siglo I dC según Marshall.
