QUÉ SIGNIFICA ANTICODON EN INGLÉS
ARN de transferencia
Un ARN de transferencia es una molécula adaptadora compuesta de ARN, típicamente de 73 a 94 nucleótidos de longitud, que sirve como enlace físico entre la secuencia de nucleótidos de ácidos nucleicos y la secuencia de aminoácidos de proteínas. Lo hace mediante el transporte de un aminoácido a la maquinaria de proteínas sintéticas de una célula según lo indicado por una secuencia de tres nucleótidos en un ARN mensajero. Como tal, tRNAs son un componente necesario de la traducción de proteínas, la síntesis biológica de nuevas proteínas de acuerdo con el código genético. La secuencia de nucleótidos específica de un ARNm especifica qué aminoácidos se incorporan al producto proteico del gen del que se transcribe el ARNm y el papel del ARNt es especificar qué secuencia del código genético corresponde a qué aminoácido. Un extremo del tRNA coincide con el código genético en una secuencia de tres nucleótidos llamada anticodón. El anticodón forma tres pares de bases con un codón en mRNA durante la biosíntesis de proteínas. El ARNm codifica una proteína como una serie de codones contiguos, cada uno de los cuales es reconocido por un ARNt particular. En el otro extremo del ARNt está una unión covalente al aminoácido que corresponde a la secuencia anticodona.
