Botswana / bɒtswɑːnə /, oficialmente la República de Botswana, es un país sin salida al mar situado en el sur de África. Los ciudadanos se refieren a sí mismos como Batswana. Antiguamente el protectorado británico de Bechuanaland, Botswana adoptó su nuevo nombre después de independizarse en la Commonwealth el 30 de septiembre de 1966.
