Puente de diodos
Un puente de diodos es una disposición de cuatro diodos en una configuración de circuito puente que proporciona la misma polaridad de salida para cualquier polaridad de entrada. Cuando se utiliza en su aplicación más común, para la conversión de una entrada de corriente alterna en una salida de corriente continua, se conoce como un puente rectificador. Un rectificador de puente proporciona una rectificación de onda completa a partir de una entrada de CA de dos hilos, resultando en un menor coste y peso en comparación con un rectificador con una entrada de 3 hilos de un transformador con un devanado secundario de torsión central. La característica esencial de un puente de diodos es que la polaridad de la salida es la misma independientemente de la polaridad en la entrada. El circuito de puente de diodo fue inventado por el electrotécnico polaco Karol Pollak y la patente fue registrada el 14 de enero de 1896 bajo el número DRP 96564. Posteriormente fue publicada en Elektronische Zeitung, vol. 25 en 1897 con anotación que el físico alemán Leo Graetz también estaba investigando este asunto en ese momento. Hoy en día el circuito todavía se refiere a menudo como el circuito de Graetz o el puente de Graetz.
