La memoria de burbuja es un tipo de memoria de ordenador no volátil que utiliza una película delgada de un material magnético para contener pequeñas áreas magnetizadas, conocidas como burbujas o dominios, almacenando cada uno un bit de datos. El material está dispuesto para formar una serie de pistas paralelas que las burbujas pueden moverse a lo largo bajo la acción de un campo magnético externo. Las burbujas se leen moviéndolas al borde del material donde pueden ser leídas por un captador magnético convencional y luego reescritas en el borde lejano para mantener el ciclo de memoria a través del material. En funcionamiento, las memorias de burbujas son similares a los sistemas de memoria de línea de retardo. Memoria de la burbuja comenzó como una tecnología prometedora en la década de 1980, ofreciendo densidad de memoria de un orden similar como discos duros, pero el rendimiento más comparable a la memoria central.
