Celuloide
Los celuloides son una clase de compuestos creados a partir de nitrocelulosa y alcanfor, con colorantes añadidos y otros agentes. Generalmente se consideró el primer termoplástico, primero fue creado como Parkesine en 1856 y como Xylonite en 1869, antes de ser registrado como Celluloid en 1870. El Celluloid es fácilmente moldeado y formado, y primero fue utilizado extensamente como reemplazo del marfil. El objetivo principal era el cine y las industrias cinematográficas fotográficas, que usaban sólo películas de celuloide antes de las películas de acetato que se introdujeron en los años cincuenta.
