Concreción
Una concreción es una masa dura y compacta de roca sedimentaria formada por la precipitación de cemento mineral dentro de los espacios entre los granos sedimentarios. Concreciones son a menudo de forma ovoide o esférica, aunque también ocurren formas irregulares. La palabra "concreción" se deriva del latín significando 'juntos' y crescere que significa 'crecer'. Las concreciones se forman dentro de capas de estratos sedimentarios que ya han sido depositadas. Generalmente se forman temprano en la historia del entierro del sedimento, antes de que el resto del sedimento se endurezca en roca.
