Decoherencia cuántica
En la mecánica cuántica, la decoherencia cuántica es la pérdida de coherencia o ordenamiento de los ángulos de fase entre los componentes de un sistema en una superposición cuántica. Una consecuencia de este desfasaje es el comportamiento clásico o probabilísticamente aditivo. La decoherencia cuántica da la apariencia de colapso de la función de onda y justifica el marco e intuición de la física clásica como una aproximación aceptable: la decoherencia es el mecanismo por el cual el límite clásico emerge de un punto de partida cuántico y determina la ubicación del límite cuántico-clásico. La decoherencia ocurre cuando un sistema interactúa con su entorno de una manera termodinámicamente irreversible. Esto impide que diferentes elementos en la superposición cuántica de la función de onda del sistema total interfieran entre sí. La decoherencia ha sido objeto de una investigación activa desde los años ochenta. La decoherencia puede ser vista como la pérdida de información de un sistema en el ambiente, ya que cada sistema está ligeramente acoplado con el estado energético de su entorno. Visto de forma aislada, la dinámica del sistema no es unitaria. Así, la dinámica del sistema solo es irreversible.
