Decompensation

En medicina, la descompensación es el deterioro funcional de una estructura o sistema que funcionaba previamente. La descompensación puede ocurrir debido a fatiga, estrés, enfermedad o vejez. Cuando un sistema es "compensado", es capaz de funcionar a pesar de estresores o defectos. La descompensación describe una incapacidad para compensar estas deficiencias.
