Delegitimisation

La deslegitimación es el proceso sociopsicológico que socava o marginaliza a una entidad presentando juicios de valor como hechos que se interpretan para devaluar la legitimidad. Es un mecanismo de autojustificación, con el objetivo último de justificar el daño de un outgroup. El concepto se aplica a un amplio espectro de contextos sociales que van desde disputas sobre entidades políticas hasta enfermedades crónicas. Delegitimisation is the sociopsychological process which undermines or marginalises an entity by presenting value judgments as facts which are construed to devalue legitimacy. It is a self-justifying mechanism, with the ultimate goal of justifying harm of an outgroup. The concept applies to a wide spectrum of social contexts ranging from disputes about political entities to chronic illnesses.
