La primera definición de destructivista en el diccionario es aquella que sostiene la teoría filosófica de que una parte de un todo puede considerarse una parte principal si la destrucción de esa parte llevaría a la destrucción del todo. El contrario es un maximalista. Otra definición de destructivista es aquella cuyas acciones conducen a la destrucción de la sociedad; por lo tanto, alguien que rompe las reglas de la sociedad para promover sus propios intereses. Destructivista es también un artista que participa en el movimiento de arte experimental destructivismo, al destruir objetos durante una presentación pública.
