Disfranchisement

La privación de derechos es la revocación del derecho de sufragio de una persona o grupo de personas, o mediante prácticas, la prevención de una persona que ejerce el derecho de voto. La discriminación puede lograrse explícitamente por ley o implícitamente a través de requerimientos aplicados de manera discriminatoria, intimidación, o imponiendo requisitos irrazonables a los votantes para su registro o votación. Disfranchisement is the revocation of the right of suffrage of a person or group of people, or through practices, prevention of a person exercising the right to vote. Disfranchisement may be accomplished explicitly by law or implicitly through requirements applied in a discriminatory fashion, intimidation, or by placing unreasonable requirements on voters for registration or voting.
