Dopplerite
La dopplerita es una sustancia orgánica natural que se encuentra en las masas amorfas, elásticas o gelatinosas, de color negro pardo, en las camas de turba en Estiria y en Suiza. Es insípido, insoluble en alcohol y éter, y es descrito por James Dwight Dana como una sustancia ácida, o mezcla de diversos ácidos, relacionada con el ácido húmico. Tiene el nombre del físico y matemático Christian Doppler.
