Sistema eutéctico
Un sistema eutéctico del griego "ευ" y "Τήξις" es una mezcla de compuestos químicos o elementos que tienen una sola composición química que se solidifica a una temperatura más baja que cualquier otra composición compuesta de los mismos ingredientes. Esta composición se conoce como composición eutéctica y la temperatura a la que se solidifica se conoce como temperatura eutéctica. En un diagrama de fases, la intersección de la temperatura eutéctica y la composición eutéctica proporciona el punto eutéctico. Las mezclas no eutécticas mostrarán la solidificación de un componente de la mezcla antes que el otro. No todas las aleaciones binarias tienen un punto eutéctico; Por ejemplo, en el sistema de plata y oro, la temperatura de fusión y la temperatura de congelación aumentan monotónicamente a medida que la mezcla cambia de plata pura a oro puro.
