Las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia-Ejército Popular son una organización militar irregular involucrada en el continuo conflicto armado colombiano desde 1964. La fuerza de las fuerzas de las FARC-EP es indeterminada; En 2007, las FARC dijeron que eran una fuerza armada de 18.000 hombres y mujeres; En 2010, los militares colombianos calcularon que las fuerzas de las FARC se componían de aproximadamente 13.800 miembros, de los cuales el 50% eran guerrilleros armados; Y en 2011 el Presidente de Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, dijo que las fuerzas de las FARC-EP comprendían menos de 10.000 miembros. En 2013 se informó que 26.648 miembros de las FARC y del ELN habían decidido desmovilizarse desde 2002. Según un informe de Human Rights Watch, aproximadamente el 20-30% de los reclutas son menores de edad, la mayoría de los cuales se ven obligados a unirse a las FARC.
