Prueba de llama
Una prueba de llama es un procedimiento analítico usado en química para detectar la presencia de ciertos elementos, principalmente iones metálicos, basados en el espectro de emisión característico de cada elemento. El color de las llamas en general también depende de la temperatura; Ver el color de la llama. El ensayo consiste en introducir una muestra del elemento o compuesto en una llama caliente y no luminosa y observar el color de la llama resultante. La idea de la prueba es que los átomos de la muestra evaporan y puesto que son calientes, emiten la luz cuando están en llama. La muestra a granel emite luz también, pero su luz no es buena para el análisis. La muestra a granel emite luz principalmente debido al movimiento de los átomos, por lo tanto su espectro es amplio, consistente en una amplia gama de colores. Los átomos separados de la muestra presente en la llama pueden emitir sólo debido a transiciones electrónicas entre diferentes niveles de energía atómica. Esas transiciones emiten luz de frecuencias muy específicas, características del propio elemento químico. Por lo tanto, la llama obtiene el color, que se determina principalmente por las propiedades del elemento químico de la sustancia que se pone en llamas.
