Generalización
Una generalización (o generalización) de un concepto es una extensión del concepto a criterios menos específicos. Es un elemento fundamental de la lógica y del razonamiento humano. Las generalizaciones postulan la existencia de un dominio o conjunto de elementos, así como una o más características comunes compartidas por esos elementos. Como tales, son la base esencial de todas las deducciones deductivas válidas. El proceso de verificación es necesario para determinar si una generalización es válida para cualquier situación dada. El concepto de generalización tiene amplia aplicación en muchas disciplinas relacionadas, a veces con un contexto o significado especializado. De cualquiera de los dos conceptos relacionados, como A y B, A es una "generalización" de B, y B es un caso especial de A, si y sólo si ▪ cada instancia del concepto B es también una instancia del concepto A; Y ▪ hay casos del concepto A que no son ejemplos del concepto B.
