La hidrosfera en la geografía física describe la masa combinada de agua que se encuentra sobre, debajo y sobre la superficie de un planeta. Igor Shiklomanov, el hombre seleccionado por las Naciones Unidas para hacer su inventario mundial de recursos hídricos, estimó que hay 1386 millones de kilómetros cúbicos de agua en la tierra.
