Ingeniería del conocimiento
La ingeniería del conocimiento fue definida en 1983 por Edward Feigenbaum y Pamela McCorduck, de la siguiente manera: KE es una disciplina de ingeniería que implica integrar el conocimiento en sistemas informáticos para resolver problemas complejos que normalmente requieren un alto nivel de experiencia humana. Se utiliza en muchos dominios informáticos como la inteligencia artificial, incluyendo bases de datos, minería de datos, bioinformática, sistemas expertos, sistemas de apoyo a la toma de decisiones y sistemas de información geográfica. La ingeniería del conocimiento también está relacionada con la lógica matemática, así como fuertemente involucrada en la ciencia cognitiva y la ingeniería socio-cognitiva, donde el conocimiento es producido por agregados socio-cognitivos y está estructurado de acuerdo a nuestra comprensión de cómo funciona el razonamiento humano y la lógica.
